A man has died and another man has been arrested after an attack at a casino in north London.
Police were called to City Slots arcade on Camden High Street at 10.09pm yesterday.
Joshua Lyons witnessed the incident, and told the Evening Standard that he saw the victim lying in the doorway of the arcade.
He said: ‘The door was open and you could see the victim laying by the doorway.
‘Witnesses were all quite shaken up.’
A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: ‘Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and found a man suffering serious injuries.
‘The man – thought to be aged in his 40s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
‘A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course. Officers are working to establish the man’s identity and inform next of kin.’
A man was arrested at the scene. No further details have been released but he was still in police custody last night.
Police said an investigation is underway to determine the ‘full circumstances’ of the incident.
Officers have cordoned off a section of the high street around the crime scene.
Pictures from the scene showed forensics bagging up evidence and police tape tied around the front door of the arcade.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: ‘We were called at 10.12pm on 28 July to reports of a person injured on Camden High Street.
‘We sent an incident response officer and two ambulances to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance by road.
‘Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.’
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101.
