An iconic club is set to reopen after a £3 million refurbishment in a sign of good things to come for London’s dwindling nightlife.

Pryzm Kingston on Clarence Street was forced to close last year as the capital’s nightlife buckled under pressure from Nimbys, Covid and the cost of living crisis.

But it has now been taken over by new owners Neos Hospitality, who want to convert the building into two venues in a £3 million refurbishment.

This will include a ‘party bar’ on the ground floor called Bonnie Rogues and new nightclub called Circuit will take up the first and second floors.

Neos said in their planning application the refurbishment would attract top artists to the venue as all customers will have a better view of the stage.

Nearly everything is set to be revamped in their plans, with their application request to re-layout the bars, toilets, cloakrooms and even the seating booths.

Although Kingston Council still need to approve the plans, this could be a sign London’s nightlife is finally on the up again.

The number of nightclubs has slightly increased from 103 to December 2023 to 116 in November 2024.

This marks a 12.6% rise and the highest growth in major UK cities, according to the Night Time Industries Association.

Pryzm brands closed along with Atik after hospitality company Rekom UK shut 17 venues across the UK in 2024.

But both brands have since separated from the company and formed Neos, which is pressing ahead to revamp its existing spaces.

Russell Quelch, CEO of NEOS Hospitality, told Metro: ‘We have exciting development plans to bring two of our core venues, Bonnie Rogues and Circuit to our PRYZM site in Kingston, as we look to provide a vibrant, next generation, split venue space for our customers to enjoy throughout the day and evening.

‘If our submitted plans are accepted, this will allow us at NEOS to develop the existing space, and invest £3 million into the venue this year, transforming the space into two concepts that align with customer demand in the area.

‘Bonnie Rogues party bar will occupy the ground floor, with a new state-of-the-art club, Circuit on the 1st and 2nd floor, bringing two new social hubs to the town with good vibes, live music and late-night entertainment central to our plan.’
