Acting veteran Sir Michael Caine enjoyed a meal out with his wife Shakira, and it appears in an unlikely turn of events, former Prime Minister Liz Truss too.
The 89-year-old actor used a walking frame as he made his way out of the London eatery, with his wife Shakira close by.
But through The Dark Knight – excuse the pun – Ms Truss was also spotted striding out of the very same restaurant wearing an oversized fur jacket and an orange scarf over a bright red dress (controversial).
The former Number 10 inhabitant, 47, claimed the title of the shortest ever serving Prime Minister in British history after she lasted a grand total of 44 days following a calamitous mini-budget plan which spent the pound spiraling and almost toppled the country into economic instability.
Whether the Hollywood legend Sir Michael and former model Shakira, 75, talked about economics or Miss Congeniality with the disgraced former Prime Minister as they exited the London restaurant remains a mystery, but it’s for sure an unlikely pairing.
It’s not clear whether they all enjoyed a meal together, or if by fate they found themselves settling bills at the same time.
Former actor Shakira stunned in a very similar fur coat to Ms Truss’ (awkward) and some dazzling silver jewellery to go with her chic black get up and deep red lipstick.
Sir Michael, who also dressed up for the occasion in a navy shirt and suit, was spotted in July using a walking frame in place of a stick for the first time after a 2018 accident left him with a broken ankle.
The acting icon has previously opened up about his health, and said he has a ‘spine problem which affects [his] legs so [he] can’t walk very well’.
The star has also chatted candidly in 2016 about his alcohol problem, and how without Shakira by his side he’d have been ‘dead long ago’.
Now, Sir Michael is focused on enjoying life with his three grandchildren – twins Miles and Allegra and grandson Taylor – with whom he is ‘besotted’.
‘They’re my fountain of youth and have given me a new lease of life without any of the worries or troubles. I’m completely besotted and so is my wife,’ he told Candis Magazine.
‘I’ve had some high points in my life, I’ve won two Academy Awards and been given a knighthood, and I used to think that you couldn’t get better than that but then I got my grandchildren, which is better than anything.’
Meanwhile, Ms Truss has just enjoyed her first broadcast interview since being ousted from Number 10 in which she said she may have gone ‘too far’ with her economic policies, but she doesn’t ‘regret’ her short tenure.
