Eighty firefighters are battling a huge blaze which has broken out at a block of flats in south-east London.
Huge plumes of smoke were pictured rising from the building in Deptford on Wednesday evening.
The London Fire Brigade said twelve fire engines were called to the block of flats in Childers Street at 7.26pm.
A flat on the sixth floor and part of the roof is alight.
Video footage on social media shows smoke billowing from the top of the building.
Footage also shows firefighters tackling the fire in an aerial device.
The cause of the blaze is not known at this stage.
The fire brigade said the control room took 34 calls to the fire.
One witness posted on Twitter: “Just went for an evening walk with my kids and witnessed a fire block on flames in Deptford, South East London.
“Another block of flats on fire in London. Praying all the occupants are safe.”
Fire crews from Deptford, New Cross, Greenwich, Old Kent Road, Lewisham and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.
