Tube disruption update
Severe delays continue on every London Underground line this evening as the strike action continues.
The Circle line has also been closed completely.
Passengers have been advised to check their journeys before they travel to avoid the worst of the disruption.
Lime hire jumps by 23% amid strikes
Lime e-bikes and scooters have seen a 23 per cent increase in hires amid the ongoing strikes, the firm has said.
The rise came on Tuesday as Londoners looked to beat the walkouts.
Hal Stevenson, Lime’s UK policy chief, said: “We’re proud to be helping so many Londoners get to where they need to be this week.”
Waterloo & City line suspended
The Waterloo & City line has been suspended.
The line services Bank station and Waterloo station only. No trains are currently running.
It is not yet clear when the line will reopen.
Tube delays update
There are suspensions and severe delays across the Tube network this evening.
Here are all the Underground lines currently disrupted:
- Circle line – No service on the entire line
- Bakerloo line – No service between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone. Severe delays on the rest of the line
- Central line – No service between Liverpool Street and White City. Severe delays on the rest of the line
- Metropolitan line – No service between Baker Street and Aldgate. Severe delays on the rest of the line
- Piccadilly line – No service between Arnos Grove and Acton Town, Uxbridge. Trains are running between Arnos Grove and Cockfosters and between Acton Town and Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 via Terminal 4 approximately every 20 minutes. Severe delays on the rest of the line
- Hammersmith & City line – No service between Liverpool Street and Barking. Services between Hammersmith and Aldgate are running approximately every 25 minutes. Severe delays on the rest of the line
- District line – Severe delays on the entire line
- Jubilee line – Severe delays on the entire line
- Northern line – Severe delays on the entire line
- Victoria line – Severe delays on the entire line
- Waterloo & City line – Severe delays on the entire line
How long will the disruption last?
Today’s strike will run until midday tomorrow, with Tubes not starting until 7.30am.
More disruption is expected in the afternoon as services slowly return to normal.
The Underground network will not resume service levels until at least Friday evening.

Hammersmith & City line update
There are now severe delays on the Hammersmith & City line.
It means that almost all lines are now experiencing major delays or suspension.
Commuters have been advised to check their routes before they travel this evening.
Service update
As of 4pm, here are the statuses of the major Tube lines:
- Circle line – No service on the entire line
- Metropolitan line – No service between Baker Street and Aldgate, and severe delays on the rest of the line
- Central line – No service between White City and Liverpool Street and severe delays on the rest of the line due to strike action.
- Piccadilly line – No service between Arnos Grove and Acton Town, Acton Town and Uxbridge, and between Heathrow Terminals 2 &3 to Terminal 5. There are severe delays on the rest of the line
- Bakerloo line – Severe delays on the entire line
- Central line – Severe delays on the entire line
- District line – Severe delays on the entire line
- Jubilee line – Severe delays on the entire line
- Northern line – Severe delays on the entire line
- Waterloo & City line – Severe delays
- Hammersmith & City line – Minor delays on the entire line
- Victoria line – Minor delays on the entire line
Finish your journey by 8pm
As on Tuesday evening, TfL is advising commuters to complete their journeys by 8pm today, as any services still running will be finishing early.
Services then will not restart again until around 7.30am on Friday, again with a reduced service until the walkout ends at 12pm tomorrow.
Waterloo & City line delays
There are now also severe delays on the Waterloo & City line.
Commuters have also been warned that the line will close by 6pm today.
Bike usage up 60%
Cycle hire in London increased by 60% in London yesterday.
The tube closures meant thousands more commuters cycled in to avoid the delays – aided by the lovely spring weather.
Cycle paths during rush hour have been extremely crowded, prompting cycle campaigners to call for expanded bike lanes.
