The unsuspected UK cities howling with pleasure over werewolf dildos

There’s something unexpected the bustling cities of London and Liverpool have in common.

It’s not their shared rich maritime history or vibrant cultural scenes. It’s that their residents are the two biggest buyers of werewolf dildos in the UK.

Yes, we’re fur real (sorry). You might recall the city of Hereford making headlines for buying the biggest dildos in Britain at a whopping 7.13 inches long, but still, this feels like a stretch.

Sales insights from Odyssey, a fantasy-friendly sex toy site, have revealed that it’s Lycan Knotted Werewolf Dildo is one of the most popular fantasy sex toys across the UK.

While it’s the biggest seller in Liverpool and the capital, it also features in the top three fantasy sex toy purchases in multiple British cities.

It’s the second most popular in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Nottingham, and the third most popular toy in Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol.

It may seem niche, but kink and sex expert Gigi Engle tells Metro that fantasy-based sex toys are becoming increasingly popular because they’re more ubiquitous than ever.

‘They’re more available than ever before and people are becoming more open to trying new things because sex toys are less taboo now,’ she explains.

In fact, sales for fantasy sex toys are increasing 50% year on year according to the Odyssey team, with werewolf themed toys currently being the most popular.

‘There’s also a big connection to the rise of high fantasy novels and shows which have become hugely popular – turning fiction into sexual fantasy,’ Gigi, for sextoys.co.uk, adds.

If you were team Jacob in the golden age of Twilight circa 2008, it’s not hard to see where the desire could have originated from, now compounded by the likes of the smash-hit 2025 fantasy novel Dire Bound, which portrays a sexually-charged world in which young men and women are bonded to wolves.

This fantasy genre which spans vampires, fae (fairies), aliens and more, makes up a huge portion of the BookTok community on TikTok, which has seen more than 77 million posts and counting.

Tentacles

It’s not just werewolf fantasies that are taking root, though. Tentacle-themed dildos are very popular across UK cities, with the exception of London and Liverpool.

Kraken dildos were the most purchased in Glasgow and Birmingham, with residents looking to pleasure themselves on a large tentacle, suckers and all.

They were also popular in Bristol and Leeds, while Nottingham residents commonly purchased a tentacle toy designed for anal sex.

Horses and dragons

And of course, when we think of fantasy novels or films, galloping on noble steeds and fighting dragons is often part of the package.

Think of best-selling fantasy book Fourth Wing, which takes places as Basgiath College where young men and women learn to ride and fight on dragons, or House of The Dragon, a TV prequel to Game of Thrones.

It seems these tales have shaped our desires, particularly in the capital. When Londoners aren’t buying werewolf sex toys, they’re purchasing horse-shaped dildos, or dragon dildos complete with scales.

Dragon sex toys are also the second most popular purchase for Birmingham residents and Scousers.

So, proceed to purchase your out-of-this-world rendezvous.
