A young woman is fighting for life in hospital after being knocked down by a suspected drink driver in south London.
Police and paramedics were called to London Road, near the junction with Garth Road, in Cheam at about 22.15pm on Friday to reports of a collision.
The woman, 21, was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
The driver did not stop at the scene but was arrested a short time later on suspicion of drink driving. He was being questioned in custody on Saturday.
