Commuters face chaos today as the Northern and Metropolitan Tube lines and the London Overground are experiencing severe delays.

On its status updates page, Transport for London (TfL) says of the Northern Line: ‘Severe delays due to an earlier faulty train at Tooting Broadway.

‘London Underground tickets will be accepted on London Trams, South Western Railway, Thameslink and local bus services.’

While a signal failure is causing severe delays on the Metropolitan Line at Harrow-on-the-Hill, north-west London.

‘London Underground tickets will be accepted on Chiltern Railways and local buses,’ TfL says.

The Overground – or more specifically, the Mildmay Line – is partially suspended and is experiencing delays between Stratford and Richmond/Sheperd’s Bush following a late finish of engineering works.

There is good service on the rest of the London Underground network, the Elizabeth Line, DLR and Tram service.
