Ten people have been rushed to hospital following a major crash in south London.

Three of those were taken to a major trauma centre. Their conditions are currently unknown, a London Ambulance Service Spokesperson said.

It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved in the crash. Emergency services were called to the incident on Rochester Way, in Eltham, just after 1pm today.

An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene, alongside five paramedic crews, one medic in a fast response car, two incident response officers and an advanced paramedic practitioner.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said local road closures remain in place in the ara. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have also been informed.

Heavy traffic has been reported in the area.
