The incumbent has insisted that he “easily won” and that his Democratic rivals “stole the election” from his administration.

Many of his supporters back his claims including, apparently, Mr Copeland.

In footage of his Sunday service following the election, the Texas pastor – who is estimated to be worth more than £200 million – tells his congregation: “The media said what? Hahahahah.”

He continues: “The media said Joe Biden‘s president! Hahahahaha ha ha ha ha….”

His almost entirely unmasked audience appeared delighted at his sarcastsic outburst, rising from their seats to applaud the 83-year-old.

Mr Copeland often shares controversial takes on contemporary issues with his worshippers.

Early in the coronavirus pandemic he claimed to “blow the virus away”, yelling at the camera: ‘Wind! Almighty! Strong! South wind! Heat! Burn this thing! In the name of Jesus.”

In the spring, the Texan – one of the world’s richest pastors – said the Covid-19 crisis would be “over much sooner you think” because “Christian people all over this country praying have overwhelmed it.”

His manic take on the election results was shared on Twitter on Sunday evening.

In less than 24 hours it was viewed more than 9.9 million times.
