A 29-year-old man was stabbed to death in southeast London this afternoon.

Metropolitan Police officers rushed to Malyons Road, in Ladywell, Lewisham, just after 2pm.

The victim was discovered in a car with serious stab wounds. But despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Though he has not been formally identified, his next of kin have been informed by specially trained officers.

Footage from the scene shared on social media show officers taping off Malyons Road.

No arrests have yet been made, but the force has launched an investigation into his death.

There are reports the man was stabbed in the neck, but the Met is yet to confirm this.

A spokesperson for the force said: ‘Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have been informed and enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.

‘A post-mortem examination will take place in due course. There have been no arrests.’

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 3928/10May.
