The breakfast team is back and we can’t wait to get started with a newly extended slot, every week day morning from 1 September.
We have brilliant guests lined up for you every Monday to Friday including politicians, pop stars, captains of industry (and aeroplanes), indeed experts in every field you want to know more about as we help set the agenda for your day.
A recent Ofcom report rated Sky News as the UK leading broadcaster for quality, accuracy, trustworthiness and “help in understanding what’s happening in the world today” – which is particularly important to us at Breakfast.
As we continue to contend with a health crisis that brought the country, and the world, to its knees, the need for clarity, for answers, for news you can trust has never been greater. That’s what the team can promise.
You may have seen our new promo which underlines what we already know you expect from our interviews; always questioning, rigorous, challenging, robust – but above all fair.
That’s what I will strive to fulfil on your behalf, but we are also keen to have you, our audience, more involved.
We are introducing a new strand – A Quick Question – which will allow you to put your questions directly to the decision- makers.
Remember too that our new flagship breakfast programme, although the only early morning show live from the heart of Westminster, is about much more than politics. If there is a story to be told, we will go there.
Fundraisers, record-breakers, mountain climbers, community leaders, medics on the frontline, scientists working meticulously to find that all important vaccine. We’ll be shining a light on all of them and from a new look studio that promises quite a few surprises.

We also appreciate that our viewers are watching us right around the world and often hear from audiences in Singapore to California; Iceland to South Africa. Rest assured, our new look programme will continue to have a global appeal.
This is my third incarnation as a breakfast show host, first in the 80s then the 90s, and although that early morning alarm call (for those wondering, it’s 3.30am) never gets any easier, I can guarantee that my energy and enthusiasm remains just as high octane.
Similarly, the team will work through the night to bring you what you need to know to prepare for the day ahead. And don’t forget if you’re heading out of the door you can take us with you via the Sky News App, our YouTube channel, or we are live-streamed via the Sky News Twitter page.
We know you don’t have five minutes to sit still in the morning, time is tight, and so the show will be packed and pacy with something for everyone. Monday to Friday 7-10am. Hope to see you then.
