A
man was stabbed during a group brawl on a station platform in Barking after a weekend of bloodshed across London.
Police rushed to Barking railway station after reports of a fight involving a group of men at 10.13pm on Friday, January 13.
A 32-year-old man taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining laceration wounds following the attack. He was later discharged and arrested on suspicion of affray.
Two men were arrested at the scene. A 23-year-old was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm while another man, aged 19, was detained on suspicion of affray.
The horrific incident was among several violent attacks that took place in the capital over the weekend.
On Saturday, police were called to Tudor Road in Harrow at 10.48pm following reports of two men fighting with knives at a party.
Two boys – both aged 16 – were found with stab wounds and were taken to hospital.
Two other boys, a 16-year-old with a laceration to the hand and a 15-year-old with injuries to his fingers, were also taken to hospital for assessment.
None of the four is in a life-threatening condition. No arrests have yet been made.
In a separate incident on the same day, six people were left injured after a gunman opened fire at a funeral service in Euston.
A seven-year-old girl is fighting for her life in hospital after the attack.
Another girl, aged 12, suffered a leg injury but has been discharged from hospital, while a 48-year-old woman sustained life-changing injuries, and three other women, aged 21, 41, and 58, were hurt.
The victims were leaving a service for British-Colombian Sara Sanchez, 20, and her mother Fresia Calderon, 50, at St Aloysius church near Euston station in London at 1.30pm on Saturday, when the attacker fired a shotgun.
A man has been arrested in connection with the attack and remains in police custody.
In a separate incident on Saturday, police were called to Lewisham Road following reports of a cyclist in collision with a lamppost.
The cyclist, a 19-year-old man, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital. His injuries have been assessed as not life-threatening.
