A man in his 20s has died following reports of a shooting in London.
The Metropolitan Police says it was called to Brackenfield Close in Hackney at about 11.30pm on Friday following reports of shots being fired.
Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics found the victim, thought to be in his 20s, suffering gunshot injuries.
Despite the efforts of medics and officers, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
A cordon remains in place at the scene while officers conduct an investigation into the incident.
Shocked neighbours say a blue and white tent has been put up in the rear garden.
A section 60 has also been authorised until 3.15pm today, which gives police additional stop and search powers across the borough of Hackney.
No arrests have yet been made.
