A man has been charged with killing a 74-year-old after she was found a month after her death.
Pepita Sakirecili, also known as Pepita Garcia, was found by officers at her property in Tottenham, north London, in January.
Dominic Whitton, 41, of Reynardson Road, Tottenham, has been charged with murder and manslaughter in connection with Pepita’s death.
A post-mortem revealed Pepita suffered blunt force trauma, with her body left for a month before officers found her.
Whitton was previously charged with preventing a lawful burial in connection with the investigation.
The Met Police said: ‘On Monday, 13 January, police were called to Reynardson Road, N17 following concern for welfare of a woman inside an address.
‘Officers forced entry to the property and found a woman who had sadly died.
‘The woman was identified as 74-year-old Pepita Sarikecili, who was also known as Pepita Garcia.
‘Police launched an investigation and believe that Pepita had died the previous month.
‘A postmortem revealed her cause of death was blunt force trauma.’
