A man is in a critical condition after being stabbed on a bus on Oxford Street.

A 25-year-old has been taken to hospital after the incident last night on London’s iconic shopping street, which is now cordoned off.

No arrests have been made yet by police.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at about 10.20pm on Tuesday, February 28 to reports of a man stabbed on board a bus on Oxford Street.

‘Officers attended and found a 25-year-old man critically injured.

‘He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

‘A crime scene is in place and parts of Oxford Street remain closed to traffic.

‘Additional officers are in the area. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.’

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Met via 101 and quote the reference CAD 7103/28Feb.

A road closure is currently in place between Regent Street and Harewood Place/Holles Street.

Several bus routes have been put on diversion, including routes 7, 55, 73, 94, 98, 139 and 390.
