The party has suggested it wants to see headphone dodgers hit with £1,000 fines.

TfL reveals why it doesn’t post about Tube chaos on social media

Transport for London has explained why it chose not to alert commuters to a significant power outage on the Elizabeth and Tube lines via social media.

On Monday afternoon, the nation’s busiest rail route, the ‘Lizzie’ line, and six Tube lines came to a complete halt in central London.

TfL temporarily lost power from National Grid due to a “accidental” fire at an electrical substation in Maida Vale.

Restoring service on the Bakerloo line took over six hours, and three Tube trains were trapped in tunnels for as long as forty minutes.

London TravelWatch, the passenger watchdog, criticised TfL for not doing more to alert passengers on its X/Twitter account, which has 2.4 million followers, but TfL did not post any updates.

You can find out the reason here.
