Britpop reigns supreme as one of the biggest bands of the 90s era returns to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their album Dog Man Star.

Suede have reunited to re-release the 1994 record which is often considered one of the greatest albums of the era, if not of all time.

Dog Man Star was the second release from the group formed in London in 1989, consisting of singer Brett Anderson, guitarist Justine Frischmann, and bass player Mat Osman.

It solidified Suede as one of the Britpop ‘big four’, along with Blur, Pulp, and the still-at-odds Gallagher brothers in Oasis.

They had short to fame the year before with their self-titled album, which reached number one in the charts as the fastest-selling debut LP ever in the UK at that time.

Mat, who happens to be the brother of TV icon Richard Osman, praised the ‘evolving’ nature of the tracks.

Speaking about Dog Man Star, Mat shared: ‘Your first album is songs you’ve been playing live for a long time. Generally, it’s almost set.

‘The songs evolved in a certain way and you’re just trying to get them down. Dog Man Star was the first time where we just said, right, what happens if you push everything further?

‘The slow songs, we take all the drums out. If we have a big closing song, we’ll have an orchestra.

‘To start the record, let’s have something that’s on one chord, and it’s just like a mantra. The kind of band we are, how far can we take it before it breaks?’

Stay Together was the first single released to the public and stormed up the UK charts, peaking at number 3.

Dog Man Star includes huge hits such as The Wild Ones, Daddy’s Speeding, and Still Life.

Along with this, Suede have released the Killing Of A Flash Boy Dog Man Star Tour Film which was one of nine rare vignettes captured on location in London and Kent in 1994 by Mike Christie.
