Thousands of travellers will have their journeys disrupted today after a fire at an electrical substation has caused an outage at Heathrow Airport.
More than 1,300 flights to and from Heathrow Airport will be disrupted on Friday and people are being told no to make journeys to the airport.
Gatwick Airport, which is the nearest London airport to Heathrow, said it is open as usual.
The airport, which is supplied by the substation, said it was among those impacted by the power outage.

Online flight tracking service FlightRadar24 said the closure would affect at least 1,351 flights to and from Heathrow.
It said 120 flights to the airport were in the air when the closure was announced.

Are other London airports affected?
Gatwick Airport said it is operating normally today.
The UK’s second busiest airport said: ‘We are aware of the situation at Heathrow Airport today and are supporting where required.
‘Flights from London Gatwick are operating as normal today.’
Other London and surrounding airports are expected to be busy today as travellers are likely to try to book alternative flights at short notice.
British Airways issued an update following the major disruption.
The airline said that Heathrow is currently closed due to the power outage and ‘as a result, customers due to travel from Heathrow on Friday are advised not to travel to the airport until further notice.’
‘This will clearly have a significant impact on our operation and our customers and we’re working as quickly as possible to update them on their travel options for the next 24 hours and beyond.’
Virgin Atlantic said all of its arriving and departing Heathrow Airport flights are cancelled until 9.30pm today, with the rest of today’s schedule ‘currently under review.’
Meanwhile, Edinburgh Airport told British Airways not to travel to the Scottish airport due to Heathrow disruption.
‘Due to temporary closure of Heathrow Airport, all British Airways passengers are being advised not to travel to Edinburgh Airport and to contact British Airways for further information,’ an Edinburgh Airport spokesperson said.
