There are times when you want to be wined and dined, and enjoy a slow build up to a steamy night of passion.
And other times, you don’t want to wait.
You need to scratch that itch, and it needs to happen, ASAP.
And for those who can’t wait to satisfy the horn, Grindr has it’s ‘Right Now’ add-on, where users can flag to the rest of their grid that they’re ready to meet up — immediately.
Everyone using Grindr can see if a profile is looking for some Right Now fun, either via the Right Now filter on the main grid, or by using the Right Now feed or map.
And now, the dating app has analysed its own stats to find out just how many of its 15 million daters are using this particular feature, and where they are.
How does the Right Now feature work?
If you want to use it, all you need to do is tap on the Right Now button at the bottom of your grid or the Right Now Feed or Map. You can also access the feature through your profile photo icon.
Once you start, a countdown timer will appear, and your one hour session will begin immediately. During that time you have the option to post a status on your profile describing exactly what you’re looking for.
You can even tap the ‘house’ icon to indicate to other profiles that you’re willing to host. However, maybe check your Airbnb guidelines first.
According to the dating platform, you can start a Right Now session up to 2 times a week for free.
Your allotment of free sessions will reset every Friday at 5:00 PM (your local time). You can check how many free Right Now sessions you have left from the side menu in the app.
If you’ve used up both your sessions for the week but want to add another, you can do so by paying a small fee.
And, its turns out that the most impatient — and horniest — among us are right here in the capital, with Londoners the most prolific users of the ‘Right Now’ feature.

The top five cities in Europe that crave a quick turnaround are as follows:
- London
- Madrid
- Berlin
- Barcelona
- Milan
From institutions like Heaven in Charring Cross and The Yard Bar in Soho to nights out in South London at Two Brewers, The Glitch, and The Old Nun’s Head, London has a thriving queer scene.
And with Londoners’ love of all things fast-paced, it isn’t totally shocking that the British capital would come out on top.
In 2021, a poll of 2,000 Brits revealed that nearly half of UK adults have a ‘want it now’ attitude, with almost two in five admitting to be ‘impatient’ in life.
While this data wasn’t specifically targeting dating app users, it definitely paints a rather frantic picture.
Commuters rage when they have to wait more than three minutes for the next tube. If only there was a Right Now feature for TFL…
Which are the horniest cities in the world?
While we’re proud that London claimed the European top spot, it doesn’t even make it into the top five, when you look at the data worldwide:
- Lima
- Caracas
- Buenos Aires
- Phnom Penh
- Medellín
Peru has one of the most sizeable queer communities in South America. Despite having no designated ‘gay village’, locals and tourists recommend starting the night at Peuteo in Palermo for drinks and drag-themed night, before heading to Fiesta Jolie for jam-packed dance floors and amazing queer club events.
Meanwhile, Buenos Aries is colloquially referred to as the LGBTQIA capital of the continent. And, Argentina was the first country in the region to legalise same-sex marriage and has been welcoming queer travellers for decades now.
While it’s important to note that gay individuals continue to be persecuted across the world – particularly in countries in South America and Asia – the data also clearly reflects a demand for connection.
Which UK town buys the biggest dildos? You won’t be able to guess
If you’ve ever been to the tranquil city of Hereford, you likely admired its scenic walking routes, famous beef cows, and a cathedral which dates back to the 8th century.
What you might not have realised, it that it also happens to be home to the biggest dildos in the UK.
Thrusting its way to the number one spot on Lovehoney’s 2025 UK sex map, the average dildo purchased by Herefordians last year was 7.13 inches long, the biggest of anywhere in the country.
In comparison, that’s roughly the length of a standard pencil, manual toothbrush, or mid-sized banana…
