A man accused of killing a dog walker in a triple stabbing has been pictured for the first time.
Safi Dawood appeared in Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday, accused of two counts of murder.
Emergency services were called after three people were stabbed at Midhurst Gardens in Uxbridge, west London, on Monday at around 5pm.
One of the victims, 49-year-old Wayne Broadhurst, was allegedly stabbed by Dawood while out walking his dog, the court heard.
His wife announced he had tragically died following the incident.
She wrote on a GoFundMe page: ‘We are heartbroken to announce the tragic loss of our beloved Wayne Broadhurst, a hard-working man who dedicated his life to serving his community through his work in waste collection.’
More than £35,000 has so far been donated to the fundraiser, with funds going towards Mr Broadhurst’s funeral and supporting his family.
Shazhad Farrukh, 45 and another 14-year-old boy were also stabbed in the attack.
Theo Woodhead, prosecuting, said that Mr Farrukh was Dawood’s landlord, with both men living on the same street.
He explained the incident had begun inside Mr Farrukh’s home before continuing outside.
The attacker eventually backed off after a neighbour ‘swung’ their walking stick at him.
Following the attack, Mr Farrukh was taken to hospital in a critical condition, having suffered a punctured lung.
Dawood, 22, spoke in court on Thursday only to confirm his name. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey within 48 hours.
The Afghan national is believed to have arrived in the UK in 2020, the Telegraph reported.
The Home Office confirmed he arrived in the UK on a lorry and was granted leave to remain in 2022.
