Getting your fix of American food here in the UK has never been easier —from Raising Cane’s Texas Toast to Magnolia Bakery’s banana pudding.

And this summer, another export from the US will be making its debut.

California-born yoghurt café and bar Go Greek Yoghurt is expected to open in July, on South Molton Street in the West End.

Marketed as ‘not only delicious but also exceptionally healthy,’ you won’t find smarties or jelly babies on their toppings lists.

You might, however, come across a celebrity customer or two — with the likes of Blake Lively, Jennifer Aniston, Gigi Hadid, and the Kardashian clan fans of the LA branch.

Sporting a fresh Mediterranean-inspired interior, made-to-order yoghurt bar, self-service machines, and plenty of seats to enjoy your sweet (or savoury) treat, could this become Londoners’ new favourite pit stop?

Go Greek Yoghurt was founded by husband and wife duo Tanja Murgel-Subotic and David Subotic, and their business partner Jonathan Williams.

Inspired by Tanja’s time living in Greece, the brand’s entire ethos reflects the owners’ focus on wellness and mindful eating.

The company currently operates 20 locations across the US and the Middle East, making the London store its 21st.

What’s on the menu at Go Greek Yoghurt?

Now, the menu is extensive. But, it will also make a pretty substantial dent in your purse. While the store hasn’t released an official price list for the UK branch, it’s safe to say that, much like its US locations, this will be a premium spot.

If you’re looking for a quick grab-and-go, they sell a selection of smoothies for $11.99 — with different flavours like ‘green tea matcha’, ‘chocolate espresso’, and ‘strawberry and mango’ on offer.

There’s also a choice between classic yoghurt and frozen yoghurt. Both feature three house flavours: plain tart, chocolate, and Greek honey.

But if those don’t tickle your fancy, there are also a bunch of rotating flavours, such as sour cherry, guava, peanut butter, chocolate chip, and vegan Moka.

Classic yogurts come in three sizes: small ($10.99), medium ($13.99), and large ($25.99).

Frozen yoghurt is priced at $1.35 per ounce.

In-line with the company’s image, the toppings at Go Greek Yoghurt are far healthier than the selection you’d find in your local ice cream shop.

We’re talking chocolate toasted coconut chips, slivered almonds, organic gummies, and a wide variety of premium fruits.

Another one of the store’s unique features is that it also sells savoury yoghurt bowls.

For $12.50 for a 10 ounce cup, customers can purchase a ‘Greek Salad’ bowl containing Persian cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, oregano, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

Or they can pluck for the ‘Aceso’ bowl, which has mango, avocado, serrano chili peppers, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, salt, hemp seeds, and black pepper.

Overrated or worth every penny?

In April, the brand launched its first store in New York, triggering a wave of excitement among its strong online following.

Given the premium prices, it’s unsurprising that many of the most glowing reviews have come from luxury lifestyle TikTok creators.

Audrey Peters, whose TikTok content primarily revolves around her spending and high-end aesthetic, called Go Greek Yoghurt her ‘all-time favourite.’

Mentioning the NYC launch, Audrey added: ‘words cannot describe how excited I am’.

Commenters were equally enthusiastic about the fro-yo saying they were ‘obsessed’ with it.

Another creator, @gabycuadra, even suggested that Go Greek is one of the reasons why ‘the frozen yoghurt era is officially back.’

And with locations in spots like Beverly Hills, Miami, and Santa Monica, it’s no surprise they’ve attracted some A-listers.

Alongside reality TV royalty, the Kardashian family, other celebrities such as Britney Spears and Tyra Banks have been snapped enjoying the creamy Greek yoghurt.

Some former customers, however, have called the brand ‘overrated’, complaining that the prices don’t match the quality of the products.

One user @Vonnie noted: ‘Go Greek is SO overrated. It tastes like Yogurtland, but with worse toppings and 10x more expensive.’

Another user added ‘Go Greek is great but tell me why I paid $16 for a little less than half a cup…’

Despite these concerns, people still seem to be flocking to the store. And it’s clear the founders have big plans, sharing that their goal is to expand to 50 locations globally by 2027.
