A drill rapper and robber who recently escaped from custody appears to have teased a new music video just days after fleeing police.

Daniel Boakye, 21, who goes by the rap name DSAVV, fled police at University Hospital Lewisham on Sunday afternoon.

In a video posted on social media yesterday evening, a young man alleged to be the 21-year-old was heard boasting about his escape and mocking the government.

An article on Boakye’s escape from prison was displayed on a TV in the background while the young man rapped.

‘I just broke out of jail like Modie, f*** the government fam they’re phoneys,’ he said.

‘Prison break, s*** fam – f*** these police. On the roads, I’m a legend like Toby, but I can’t go wrong like Kobe.’

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers had chased Boakye after his escape from hospital at around 3pm on Sunday, but were unable to detain him before he left the building.

Boakye had been detained just days earlier after a previous abscondment, before escaping custody again on Sunday.

He is described as a black man of medium height and slim build and was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket.

The drill rapper was previously arrested at an address in Thamesmead last week before his second escape.

Court records show Boakye was jailed in July 2023 for a series of knifepoint robberies carried out across London, in which victims were threatened and forced to hand over phones and passcodes so money could be taken from their accounts.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: ‘We are searching for a 21-year-old man who absconded from Lewisham Hospital at around 15:05hrs on Sunday, February 15.

‘Daniel Boakye was in police custody at the hospital receiving medical treatment when he fled.

‘Officers gave chase but could not detain him before he left the building.

‘We are currently reviewing this incident to fully understand the events which unfolded. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is aware.’
