The star has been accused of secretly seeing Musk in 2015 while Depp was away in Australia filming Pirates Of The Caribbean 5, and starting an affair with him before the marriage ended.
Questioned directly about the claims this morning, Heard said they were untrue, saying: “Not that that matters, but no.”
Faced with a security’s guard’s claim of seeing Mr Musk visiting the Los Angeles penthouse where they lived in 2015, Heard replied: “He was wrong, I wasn’t in communication with Elon until 2016.”
She added: “All jealousy can be deemed illogical.”
Heard said she had “no choice” but to leave Depp after he struck her in the face with a telephone in May 2016.
Heard, 34, said she made the decision to file for a restraining order against Depp after the final attack, telling a friend he had been “completely delusion and crazed”.
She said she reached out to her “support group” in the aftermath of the alleged assault, before heading to court to make the abuse allegations public for the first time.
“After the incident in May I felt that I had no choice and I had to do what I needed to do to be safe,” she said. “I was really scared to leave Johnny and I had talked to my friends about this in the months leading up to the incident in May and my decision to seek a restraining order.”
Heard claims Depp had threatened to injure her face or hire someone to assault her if she left him, and had told her: “The only way out of this relationship is death.”
Describing the alleged incident on May 21, 2016, Heard texted a friend to say: “He was completely delusion and crazed,” suggesting Depp had “hit me in the face several times”.
In a text to another friend, Heard mentioned a restraining order, and she told the court: “I’m telling my support group and people who were there for the last attack.”
Heard was questioned by Eleanor Laws QC, for Depp, this morning about witnesses who have said they saw the actress after May 21 and did not see signs of injuries. “You didn’t have any marks on your face when you spoke to him,” said Ms Laws, but Heard replied: “Of course I did.”
Heard is on the second day of her evidence to Depp’s libel trial against The Sun’s publisher News Group Newspapers after a 2018 article by executive editor Dan Wootton called the star a “wife beater”. Yesterday she claimed she feared being killed by Depp in a torrent of violence, while Depp insists the claims against him are a “hoax” orchestrated by Heard.
The trial continues.
