Halloween is almost here and London is hosting a seasonal extravaganza to celebrate.
A pop-up pumpkin market is landing in Covent Garden today and will run until tomorrow (30th and 31st October).
Visitors can take their pick from all sorts of pumpkins on display and the surrounding businesses and restaurants will be getting in on the action by offering their own orange-inspired treats.
More than 200 pumpkins and 14 types of squashes and gourds will make up the sale at Covent Garden Apple Market (the central covered market), which will also be beautifully decorated with seasonal flowers from Maison De Fleurs – perfect for some autumnal snaps.
When you’re finished picking out your pumpkin, there are plenty of seasonal goodies to feast on.
The Ivy Market Grill will be serving blood orange margaritas and pumpkin-spiced lattes, whereas The Gentleman Baristas has made a bright orange ‘invisible’ sticky toffee pudding and will be serving it with candy floss and hot caramel. Elsewhere, Buns & Buns will be offering a mandarin spritz cocktail and pumpkin soup.
Sweeth tooths will also find ‘bloody cupcakes’ at Cupcake Stories and glow-in-the-dark macarons at Ladurée. Of course, there are pumpkin-spiced drinks on offer from Whittard of Chelsea, too.
What’s more, Humble Crumble will be serving its signature fruity crumbles inside some adorable mini pumpkins.
If you’re looking for more inspiration this Halloween, why not try making a spooky cocktail?
Or, if you have children, why not try a terrifying treasure hunt, some petrifying pumpkin carving or some frightful face painting, as a creative way to keep your kids entertained this Halloween.
