Weather warning issued by the Met

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms from the middle of the day today until tomorrow morning.

As a result, all Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Southern, and Thameslink routes may be impacted by the weather.

Whilst the trains are still generally expected to operate a normal service, customers are being advised to check before they travel.

Minor delays on the Bakerloo line

The Bakerloo line is also now subject to minor delays due to a shortage of trains.

The line is currently being mooted by TfL as in desperate need of an upgrade. In the Labour Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ Spending Review, announced on Wednesday, TfL was granted a four-year settlement to improve its network. You can find a summary of the key points here.

At Sir Sadiq Khan’s TfL Board Meeting yesterday afternoon, protesters gathered after a minicab driver suffered a fatal heart attack having waited months for his licence to be renewed.

Do London’s tunnels unfairly discriminate against the South?

Yesterday, The Standard’s Ross Lydall reported that Sir Sadiq Khan has been told that the peak-hour tolls imposed on the Silvertown and Blackwall tunnels “discriminate” against drivers and businesses in South London.

Number of roads set to be shut tomorrow

A reminder that as the King’s Birthday approaches, a number of roads in Central London will be closed for the Trooping of the Colour 2025.

This includes Constitution Hill (SW1A), Horse Guards Drive, The Mall, Whitehall, and Great Scotland Yard.

Londoners are advised to check before travelling.

M25 slow anticlockwise

There’s slow traffic anticlockwise on the M25 from J27 (M11) to J26 (A121) due to a broken down vehicle.

Severe delays on Piccadilly and Mildmay lines

Both the Piccadilly and Mildmay lines are subject to severe delays on the Underground and Overground networks respectively.

There is currently no service between Hounslow Central and Terminals 4 or 5, due to a fire alert at Hatton Cross.

As a result, there are severe delays between Acton Town and Hounslow Central in both directions.

The Mildmay line is also experiencing severe delays in both directions between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction whilst TfL fix a points failure at Willesden Junction.

There is a good service on all other lines.

Minor delays on the District line

TfL is reporting minor delays on the District line eastbound between Barking and Upminster due to an earlier faulty train at Barons Court.

There is a good service on the rest of the line.

Windrush line back to service as normal

The Windrush line has resumed service as usual.

There are still severe delays on the entirety of the Mildmay line.

Boarding ramps at Chalfont & Latimer back in use

The manual boarding ramps at Chalfont & Latimer station are back in use after becoming momentarily unavailable due to an unavailability of station staff.
